Well, there are those that simply follow wherever the path leads, and there are those who plan their path and go accordingly. If you've just been "going with the flow" but not getting the results you want, it's time to make a change!

A mentor is one of the most influential individuals in a person’s life. Whether in a professional, personal, or avocational role, someone who can help guide you to your goal is invaluable. But how does mentorship work? How can you maximize that relationship? Effective Mentorship covers: 

  • Differentiating types of mentoring relationships

  • Recognizing when and how to seek out a mentor

  • Identifying and developing traits of an effective mentor

  • Improve communication between participants and coworkers, customers, and supervisors 

More Than a Manager: Understanding the Roles and Relationships That Take You From Manager to Leader

 

So you've been promoted to manager. Great! Now what? Your new role requires developing a new set of skills in order to be effective. This session covers some of the trickier aspects of managing people and how to handle them effectively.

Why do we automatically “click” with some people, while others always rub us the wrong way? Differences in social styles could be at play. In this class we:

  • Define social styles

  • Discover our own social style and learn to infer others’ social styles

  • Uncover how these styles affect interpersonal interactions

  • Learn to practice flexibility with our style expression
